FORCE 11 Scholarly Communication Institute (FSCI)
FSCI was conceived in 2017 as a platform to bring together the expertise of the globally diverse FORCE11 (The Future of Research Communication and eScholarship) community to address a continuing need for knowledge transfer and skills training at a high level.
The PARSEC team, in association with Dr Anusuriya Devarayu of TERN Australia, delivered a course on July 30 (AEST) into the FSCI 2021 programme discussing Data Management Plans that ensure FAIR principles.
Instructors: Anusuriya Devaraju, Alison Specht, Shelley Stall
Description: The session was in three parts, the first being an introduction to the Data and Digital Objects Management Plan showing linkages with the research life cycle. We linked to examples of DMPs from the earth and environmental sciences. In the second part of the session, we breakdown the dynamic DMP and discuss how you can manage that through a checklist of steps and actions. In the last component of the session we show how FAIR principles can be incorporated. In all instances we provide links to standards and tools available to assist the user to complete and maintain good data management from the start of the research (or project) lifecycle to publication.
